I had always passed through Destin on road trips when I was a younger child and a young adult. Before this weekend, I'd never actually stopped and visited the city. One of my biggest supporters had a conference held at the San Destin Golf Club & Resort and invited me to tag along. So how could I possibly say no?! I didn't. I agreed and began planning activities and culinary adventures!
A day before the conference started we woke up in the wee hours of the morning so we could arrive in Destin and spend time out and about if we were able to check in early, but fortunately, we were able to check in hours earlier before 3 pm (our check-in time). The receptionist's service was excellent and she provided everything we needed, the room keys, the parking pass, and our pool passes.
After we unloaded everything in the car into our beautiful room, we explored the shopping area, Baytown Wharf, and ate at Slick Lips.

SLICK LIPS
I tried a dish with an Amberjack and Crab Crusted Blackened Grouper. The bartender is phenomenal!
Binged watched All-American and prepared my clothes for the next day (insert Instagram reels).
HARBORWALK
I visited the Harborwalk to people watch and explore the shops in the area. There are souvenir shops, escape rooms, carnival-like food and games, boat, and kayak rentals. This place is ideal for families, children, and people who love carnival-like games and food. There are many hidden and not-so-hidden areas that are fantastic for photos which is what I enjoyed most while visiting!
Who knew, I would later break my sandal ☹. Fortunately, it was toward the end of our time at the Harborwalk, I was carried to the car, and my ankle is perfectly fine now.

MEZCAL MEXICAN GRILL
Mezcal had delicious chips and salsa! They both danced on my taste buds. We had a sampler to share. I had tamales, rice, beans, and a mango margarita. There's a great ambiance and fantastic service!
SAN DESTIN BEACH RESORT
The next morning, I enjoyed the beach views and ocean breezes…that was until the noon sun hit and I was terribly hot despite the shade of the umbrella covering me while lounging. (Discounted rates since we were staying at the resort). To save money, I recommend going to the beach from 5 - 8 pm to enjoy a less crowded, less sunny, and quieter beach.
The Big Chill place that people of all ages would enjoy. There’s live music and plenty of places to enjoy various types of food: Smoked BBQ, Crawfish, and Seafood. (I attached the link to the schedule for live music and activities in the title.) Lunch at Hooked Sea to Table with an Ice Cream Cone for dessert at Mr. Freeze.
HOOKED: SEA TO TABLE
I had the Crab Cake Sandwich w/ French Fries. The Crab Cake could have used a bit more seasoning, but it was still enjoyable since there was a lemon to accompany the meal.
BIKE RIDING
Free bike riding at the resort! There's also tennis and basketball.

MY FAVORITE DINING EXPERIENCE IN THE AREA!!! We literally ate here two mornings in a row. Fortunately, we got there before the line of people was around the building. We THOROUGHLY Enjoyed our meal at Maple Street Biscuit Company. I had The Five and a Dime (It’s only appropriate right?! lol) with the signature mimosa! Then I created and edited content. Next Stop, the beach again! This time we went to the beach to play volleyball, snack, and relax after. After the beach, we went to the pool.
We had a fantastic time at Destin! My favorite place? The beach, bike riding, and the Maple Street Biscuit Company.
